NewsBrakesBrakesBrakes to headline Club NME LABrakesBrakesBrakes (also known as Brakes) are set to headline Club NME Los Angeles with Fred Perry Subculture tomorrow night (May 30). The Brighton-based band featuring brothers Alex and Tom White of Electric Soft Parade and Eamon Hamilton of British Sea Power will bring their pop-punk to Club NME-goers. The White brothers will be doing double duty tomorrow, also performing in Electric Soft Parade. Also on the bill are Brooklyn-based indie rockers Pela. Resident DJ Dia and surprise guest DJs will spin a mix of rock, electronica, punk and hip-hop before and after the set. Club NME with Fred Perry takes place at Spaceland in the Silver Lake neighbourhood of Los Angeles every Wednesday night. Next Wednesday (June 6), Flash Hawk Parlor Ensemble featuring Chris Funk and Jenny Conlee of The Decemberists are set to headline Club NME LA with Fred Perry Subculture. Mark Ronson to provide tunes for MTV awards Mark Ronson and his live band will provide music for the MTV Video Music Awards, it was announced today (August 13). Ronson, who his known for his production work with Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, has been named the house band for the Las Vegas ceremony, set to take place September 9 at the Palms Casino Resort. Members of Winehouse's band The Dap-Kings and Stu Zender of Jamiroquai will join Ronson, as well as guest vocalists who have yet to be announced. Winehouse is nominated for three VMAs, including Female Artist Of The Year, and is competing with Allen for the Best New Artist Award, as previously reported. |
